April is Autism Awareness Month, and this year I’ll be participating in the Race for Autism SUPERHERO 5K and One Mile Family Fun Walk. I’m reaching out to ask for your support in helping raise funds for programs that make a real difference for individuals and families in the autism community. This cause is especially meaningful to me. My son Thiago was diagnosed with autism at the age of two. With the support of the Regional Center and programs like NFAR, he has made incredible progress and continues to thrive in a short period of time. Thiago is an amazing kid who loves swimming and playing soccer, reading, completing puzzles, and playing video games. He also loves animals our home is full of them, including dogs, turtles, and chickens. Through the NFAR Community Projects Program, over 100 community initiatives have been supported, including early identification, education, theater and improv, sports camps, family camps, music therapy, martial arts, social skills training, driving instruction, vocational training, parent education, and peer mentor programs at the college level, and more. These programs are making a meaningful impact by helping individuals on the autism spectrum build skills, confidence, and independence. If you’re able, please consider making a donation and sharing this with others who may want to help. Thank you in advance for being a SUPERHERO for autism and for supporting such an important cause.
